Copying a week
In most businesses, every week looks almost the same. Creating it from scratch every time anyway is the quickest way to stop maintaining a shift plan.
Step by step
- Open Shift plan and go to the week you want to copy — the source week.
- Click Copy week at the top.
- Select the target week.
- Decide how shifts that already exist in the target week are to be handled: replace or add.
- Confirm.
The result: all shifts of the source week are in the target week as a draft — with the same people, times, positions and projects. Nothing has been published yet.
What is checked when copying
After copying, the same check runs as when creating a single shift. Specifically, you immediately see:
- Shifts that fall on approved vacation or a sick note
- Shifts on a public holiday in the configured federal state
- Violated rest periods at the transitions between weeks
- Temporary workers whose mini-job limit is at risk
These cases are the real reason why you look over the plan again after copying: the plan is the same, the week is not.
A pattern over several weeks
For a four-week rotation, copy in sequence: week 1 to week 5, week 2 to week 6 and so on. Named weekly patterns as reusable templates do not exist yet — the item is on the list.

If someone cannot make it after copying, the proper route is a shift swap — not quietly changing the entry.
